Northgate Glen Barker Facility Fund
Donation protected
Glen Barker has been the Athletic Trainer and has run the ROP Sports Medicine Program at Northgate High School since 1989. The program catalyzed other programs all over the Bay Area that strive to meet Glen's example. Despite other opportunities, he has put his love for the program and concern for the students before any of his needs. His students have gone on to succeed in all fields and professions in the medical field including doctors, physical therapists, EMTs, nursing, surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, physician's assistants, athletic trainers, etc. The program has been nationally recognized for its accomplishments. Along with the new pool complex being built a beautiful sport med building has been built along side of it in place of the smaller rooms and (wall-less) classroom that the program has been housed in for the past 26 years. The pool complex's budget was not reached, and as a result, the facility's supply budget is completely gone. Now, what seemed to be a blessing has affected his salary. Now Glen's already miniscule salary has been reduced to fund the supplies for the facility and that should not be the case. His students, aged 15-18, and colleagues are creating this GoFundMe without his knowledge and we hope that you'll help a mentor and inspiration be able to afford his passion for the years remaining.
I would like to add that the Northgate Community Pride Foundation has done a lot in getting this building built! This is an effort to make sure the building can be filled with supplies and equipment so its not just an empty room!
As you donate please share if you or your kids are now working in the health field because of this program.
