Hello I am Susu. I am nonbinary and use they/them pronouns. I was afab and because of this my legal name and gender are different than my preferred name and gender. This gives me very bad gender dysphoria. Having to put my legal name down or being called by my legal name(deadname) for any legal documents or doctors appointments is a huge burden for me. Because of this I tend to avoid going to the doctor and getting the help I need. Even though my doctors office has a “preferred name” option I still end up getting called by my dead name or having to use my deadname to identify myself. It takes a huge mental toll on me when things like that come up. To be able to get rid of this extra stressor in my life would be so freeing. To go in with confidence and not the mental battle I deal with when it comes to saying my name or if they will refer me by my preferred name or not would definitely make getting the help I need much easier. Changing my name is a big process and takes funds that unfortunately I do not have. I am a single parent and due to life circumstances and mental health I am unable to have a “normal” job so I make money anyway that I can but all of what I do make goes to supporting my son and my animals. If you are willing to help with the cost it would be greatly appreciated.
