Sustaining The Athlete's Advantage
Donation protected
Originally established in 1987, The Athlete's Advantage - Deep Muscle Therapy has served the San Francisco Bay Area with dependable Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. We encourage a collective and mindful healing approach, offering the unique services, tips and tools needed to maintain a better quality of life, improve performance and recover faster from soft tissue injuries.
The year began rather ominously when the introduction of CA Assembly Bill AB5 introduced a significant hardship by forcing a major adjustment to our business model and subsequently impacting the customer experience our patrons have come to expect from The Athlete’s Advantage. The pandemic has led to the current and hopefully temporary shutdown of our studio leaving The Athlete’s Advantage and it’s practitioners facing an unpredictable and uncertain future in their chosen profession.
We are asking for your support in sustaining our business for a minimum of 6 months (August 2020 - January2021) by covering basic overhead expenses. Our most immediate needs are to cover remaining expenses for July and securing lease payment for August. Hopefully, the worst will be behind us by the new year. Our most immediate needs are to cover remaining expenses for July and securing our lease beginning with August. Government support has been minimal to non-existent and due to the business model changes made in January 2020, we do not qualify for PPP or EIDL from the SBA.
As we navigate a new world with more stringent guidelines it’s expected to be many months before it’s safe to operate at a sustainable capacity. Your support will help us to breathe easier while we wade through this new world together. Our ideal is that you'll continue to benefit from The Athlete’s Advantage for many years to come.
With Gratitude,
