Ending Roe v. Wade doesn’t end the need for abortions, and it doesn’t end the need for the Emma Goldman Clinic.

Abortion is still legal in Iowa today, but the projections for the legality of abortion in Iowa remain bleak. Most analysts project that Iowa will have a total abortion ban in place in 2 to 3 years, but we could see increased restrictions as soon as July 2023.

Our primary goal is to ensure the continued existence and operation of the Emma Goldman Clinic in the event of a total ban on abortion in Iowa. In the event of a total abortion ban, we will continue to provide the reproductive health care for which we are known, in addition to our gender-affirming services. We will segue from abortion provision to abortion assistance for those in our state who need abortion referrals and resources.
