In 1989 we lost a very bright light in this world when Stephanie Liebermann died. I have no doubt that all of us who knew her continue to grieve her loss - while at the same time feel immense gratitude that we got the chance to know her during our lifetimes.

One of the many ways that her life and spirit have continued to live on is through a scholarship her parents set up - the "Stephanie Lieberman Esprit de Corps" Award. The award is given each spring to a graduating Westlake Band Senior to honor and provide a financial award to the senior as they move on to do amazing things in this world - much like no doubt Stephanie would have done as well.

Last year Stephanie's father died and her family decided that after 25 years it was time to stop supporting the scholarship. So, this gofundme is for those of us who knew and loved Stephanie to raise funds to continue the scholarship, honor her memory, and help her spirit live on through other WHS band grads for many more years to come.

Currently there is about $5,000 left from the family's contributions and the annual stipend/award is $1,500. Please consider donating whatever amount you feel comfortable with so this scholarship can live on.

All funds raised through this gofundme will be transferred to the Westlake Band Parents. They will work with their accountant to either add these funds to the existing money market account or identify other mechanisms for protecting and growing these funds over time so they can support as many graduating seniors as possible. The best approach will depend on the amount we raise.
