Student Teaching Semester

I need to raise $4,151 for tuition by August 12th to finalize my student teaching degree.  

I moved to Grand Rapids, MI in 2013 to pursue a degree in art education at Kendall College of Art and Design (KCAD). Various personal issues interrupted my studies, but in 2018 I graduated with a B.F.A....but without certification. My only hurdle was three months of student teaching: AKA. three months without pay, while still paying all my typical expenses (plus tuition costs), and loosing insurance through my employer. The opportunity cost seemed too high at the time. 

During the pandemic, however, I found out that the art education program at KCAD is being terminated after this upcoming school year. If I do not do my student teaching this year, all of my work since 2013 will be in vain. I am an excellent artist with a passion for teaching. After personally investing $40,000 into my education and a good portion of the past eight years, I do not want to miss this opportunity. I quickly applied, and have an exciting placement lined up for this fall. 

 

The cost of my upcoming semester is just over $4,100. If 41 people contribute $100, I will finally be able to complete my student teaching and receive my teaching certification! 

I am skilled at drawing portraits - consider commissioning a work or two.
