Susie's Vehicle/ Home Repairs

Donation protected

My name is Jan Yakish, I was driving to Church (St John Nepomuk) last Thursday morning, as I was exiting I-40 I noticed a young family in a stalled vehicle on the side of the road. I pulled up to ask if I can help... Susie (owner of car) said the car seemed to have stalled and she could not get it started. We tried to "Jump Start" the car but that didnt work. About that time a gentleman pulled over to help us, with his help we purchased and replaced her battery, this did not fix the problem. We then contacted a mechanic (Matt Harris), who was kind enough to come and help us diagnose Susie's  car problem. It turns out that Susie's car engine has siezed and she is in need of a new motor.

Susie is a 30 year old single mother with a 10 year old girl, Misty. Susie also lives with her father who is disabled, unable to work due to an accident.  Susie is the only income in this houshold and she is unable to pay for the repairs to her vehicle. This is her only vehicle, her only way to get to work (has had her job for 9 years), takes her daughter to school and provides for her father, along with many other details that are attched to caring for the entire Family.

During this time, I have become more familiar with Susie's situation. Her home, (which was left to her and her father from her mother who passed away in 2013 due to cancer) is also in need of many repairs, flooring, plumbing and some elecrical issues, roof, & wall repairs as well as windows and outside siding.

Susie was very appreciative of the help people gave her and She has not asked for anything more; however my Husband and I feel compelled to share her story with hopes that WE ALL as a COMMUNITY can make a difference for Susie and her Familys Future.  Susie is doing what she can, working hard, trying as best she can to provide a home and life for her daughter and father. Susie has a strong character,  very nice, caring and a loving person, mother and daughter, who Belief is what gives her such a Positive outlook on Life and People.

As I mentioned earlier, Susie is a single working mother with a 10 year old girl (Misty) and is also taking care of her disabled father. Susie has been working at her job (well known Retail store) for 9 years. Susie is well respected and appreciated at her work which fortunatly is working with her during this busy time and adjusting to her schedule due to this unfortunate situation.

We are hoping to raise $1,500 to repair/replace vehicle motor as soon as possible. The home repairs really need to done as soon as possible (due to cold weather) but getting her to work is first priority.

Susie is in need of some Christmas Spirit. If you can give $$ that would be great, any amount would be very helpful. If you own a business or would like to help in other ways (labor/work/gifts) feel free to contact me and I can give you more information.
