Susie's Battle with Oral Cancer

Hi, my name is Susie, and I was recently diagnosed with oral squamous cell carcinoma. My mom’s name is Addie and is a full-time student, in clinicals, and is graduating this May. She also works part time, working front desk. My journey began 2 months ago when I showed my first signs of pain when I was eating my treats. I was brought into the vet to get a checkup done and then two weeks later I went under anesthesia so the vet could look at my teeth. They decided two teeth needed to be pulled on the left side and then they also found an inch long/deep lesion in the roof of my mouth on the right side. They did a biopsy and a week later we found out it was cancer. After 3 more weeks I was finally able to get seen by an oncologist in Duluth, MN and then was referred to University of Minnesota vet hospital for radiation. With my type of cancer, we agreed palliative care would be best for me. It will freeze my cancer, take away my pain, be able to eat on my own again, and would give me more time with my mom. After the expenses from my teeth extractions, biopsy of my tissue, x-ray, a new vet hospital for pain meds, UVM oncologist appointment, different pain meds, and special foods. We need your help with reaching our goal so I can get a mandatory CT scan done and begin my treatments as soon as possible.
