Susie D. Madrid Memorial Fund

On Sunday January 16th, 2022 our mother Susanna "Susie" Dolores Madrid Hernandez died unexpectedly at the age of 53. Susie joins her two sons Jesse and Marcos and her mother Marcella in Heaven. She was beloved by all who knew her as Mama, Nana, Sister, Tia, Prima and Friend.

 

Our mother's sudden passing has left us reeling. We were in no way prepared for a funeral. We are asking for $10,000 to cover the $6000+ memorial package and the reception afterwards in her honor and whatever expenses that incur. We need help! So far we've raised 1500 dollars through other donations and this one!

Although she'd been in and out of the hospital these last several years dealing with Lupus, Fibromyalgia, and most recently cancer, we never saw this coming. She always came home. On Saturday we got word that might not be the case this time. 

Our Mama had a hard life, losing her young son at 7 years old and then her first born when he was just 33. Yet she still danced, and sang. There was always sadness hiding behind her smile and until now we just didn't understand how much it cost her. We take comfort knowing she's finally at peace in the arms of her boys. She is finally free.

 

We have provided several ways to donate to Mama's memorial, via Cashapp and Zelle and the response we've received so far has been amazing. We honestly didn't know how many people our mom touched throughout her life. The memories many have provided bring us comfort. We have now opened up a GoFundMe to make it easier for those who don't have access to Cashapp and Zelle. All donations, sent directly to her daughters will go towards the memorial, reception and any extra expenses. We thank you and we just want to give her the party she's always wanted.
