My name is Candice and together with my husband Darren Norris, we own and operate a three story Japanese restaurant in Adams Morgan in Washington DC called Shibuya Eatery, Shabu Plus and Death Punch Bar.

We received terribly sad news today.

Our main sushi chef named Antonio had taken time off to care for his wife who had health problems while she was pregnant with their second child. She had complications during the delivery which caused a cerebral aneurysm. She remained in the hospital and fought until she fell into a coma. This past week, she succumbed to the injuries she sustained from the delivery.

Antonio is left to care for a newborn baby and a three year old boy. Antonio has always worked hard maintaining two jobs to provide for his family. He will need financial assistance to help pay for the funeral, future child care costs and help during this time that he is away from work trying to navigate his future without his lovely wife.

This is just a sad situation and we are reaching out to all of you to provide any financial assistance to somebody we care about that is truly in need.
