One year ago I spent a month in Colombia. During that time I stayed with a Venezuelan family. They took very good care of me and fed me well while I was with them. I have kept in touch with them and have learned that she has a herniated disk and will need surgery.

Susan has been in Colombia for almost three years and was just able to have her daughter join her last year. She has enrolled her daughter in school. Susan has also started her own ice cream shop and has two employees. She is just making enough to cover all the expenses and has nothing to pay for the surgery. Susan has her brother staying with her to help her during this time as she is not able to lift or carry anything.

I am hoping to raise $10,000 to assist her with the expenses of the surgery and recuperation. The $10,000 will pay for all the expenses incurred with the surgery and with the therapy after. Any amount not spent on the surgery and expenses will go to help to pay for her lost wages from being unable to work and the added expense of her brother being with her.

Please consider helping her with any amount so that she may continue to improve her life and that of her daughter. They have had many difficulties in their lives and they are just beginning to make headway in having a life.
