On Easter Sunday around midnight, a tornado pass through the Ooltewah, TN area destroying homes and businesses and anything on its way. It has been extremely difficult for me to watch from afar as my family and community deal with the devastating effects. I wish more than anything that I could be there to help but is not possible at the moment.
My mother Susana Quintero Espinoza, was one of the unfortunate victims of this tragic event. While I’m so thankful she is alive and unharmed, by the grace of God, my mother lost her entire home and most of her possessions. Now we have to start rebuilding from scratch, during these challenging times. I’m asking for help to assist my mom on the route to recovery. Please donate whatever you can. Every little bit will help them!
My mother told me this is the scariest thing she ever experienced. On April 13 there were tornado warnings on the evening, common in the tornado state, but the warning to go into shelter was delivered as the tornado was already happening. When my mom was about to go to bed she realizes that the tornado was closer than what was predicted. My mother and brother made it to the bathtub just in time. My mother was terrified as she can hear all the destruction the tornado is causing on the outside, she felt how the tornado sucked up the ceilings in front of her house, a tree falling and cutting in half of the room in the back of the house, and the whole house was shaken up.
Although she lost furniture, shoes, clothes, her home itself, and many sentimental items that are priceless. The one thing my mom hasn’t lost is her faith in God, positivity, and gratitude that the whole family and herself are alive and together.
That’s where you and I can step in and ease a little of the burden. The money collected will be used to find my mother a new place to live. Please donate what you can and keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they begin the journey to rebuilding what was their once.

Mi madre estaba aterrorizada, ya que podía oír toda la destrucción que estaba haciendo el tornado en el exterior, sintió cómo el tornado succionaba los techos de enfrente de su casa, un árbol cayo y corto en la mitad de la habitación en la parte trasera de la casa, y toda la casa se sacudía.
Aunque perdió muebles, zapatos, ropa, su casa en sí, y muchos artículos sentimentales que no tienen precio. Lo único que mi madre no ha perdido es su fe en Dios, su positividad y su gratitud por el hecho de que toda la familia y ella está viva y juntos.
