My mother Sue was diagnosed with breast cancer in May of 2021 and has had multiple surgeries in these last 2 years due to that. During COVID, Sue's work hours were reduced to part-time. Throughout her cancer diagnosis, she has been working 3 jobs to help support her family and pay for medical expenses. Due to some complications from a ruptured appendix, Sue has been in the hospital for the past 13 days. We are hoping she can go home soon! However, even after she is released, she will have a long road ahead of her for recovery which will require another surgery coming up in the next few months. Her recovery will require that she be off of work for quite a while further contributing to financial stress.
