Susan NEEDS a LIFT!
I am organizing this “GO FUND ME” for a dear friend, and AMAZING special needs MOM, in need of an ADAPTIVE WHEELCHAIR VAN.
Her daughter, Sevrina, was born with Dandy Walker Variant. Who's ever heard of that? Well, she has very low muscle tone (similar to Cerebral Palsy), is non-verbal and has significant cognitive delays.
Because of Susan, Sevrina gets to lead a VERY fun social life. In addition to attending a great school, she loves to visit friends and family, and also plays Adaptive baseball. I am Duke Whitney, Sevrina's coach for our Challenger Adaptive baseball team!
Sevrina and her mom are the "Bobbsey Twins", always smiling and getting the most out of life. It is a pleasure to see a MOM and her daughter enjoy each other so much. Because her mom wants to give her daughter a great life, I see Susan struggle to lift her 5' 2", 95 lb. daughter in and out of their typical minivan. She can barely lift her into the seat. Then she has to deal with the 40 lb. wheelchair that has to be lifted in and out of the back of the van every time they go out.
I feel back pain every time I see them getting in and out of their van. Because of this struggle, and my adoration of them both, I am inspired to set up this Fundraiser to help them get a much-needed Adaptive Van.
Their 2008 regular minivan has over 180,000 miles on it, and they break down ALOT! It's just not safe or usable for their circumstances any longer. Susan will finance the new van, but needs help with the down payment.
I know not everyone can donate, but I hope everyone can share. Together - We can hit this out of the park!
Thank you and no donation is too small -
