Susan (Menei) Tattrie Cancer Fundraiser

On Monday, February 9, 2024, Susan was airlifted to the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital with internal bleeding and severe pain. This past week Susan has undergone extensive testing and has now been diagnosed with AML, a very aggressive form of Leukemia.

Susan is currently on a lot of medications for the pain and is having ongoing blood transfusions due to the internal bleeding. She is being a strong as can be and is fighting for her life with family at her side.

Susan, Jason, Johnny (age 9), and Scarlett (age 4) currently reside in Atikokan. Jason has been driving back and forth from Atikokan to Thunder Bay so that the kids can still be in school in Atikokan and ensure that he is at Susan’s side at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital. She has undergone a lot of rapid testing so that doctors can try to find a treatment plan as quick as possible.

Tomorrow (Saturday Feb 17th), Susan must start a very invasive chemotherapy plan at the Regional that will be occurring everyday aggressively for 7 days straight followed by a minimum of 4-6 weeks of treatment.

Even though Susan is experiencing a lot of physical pain, she is in a constant state of worry for Johnny and Scarlett. They are her whole world and Susan and Jason are trying to find away to keep them in school and trying to find ongoing childcare.

- child care so that Jason can be with Susan at her bedside and the kids can continue to keep going to school in Atikokan

- bills, food, and gas as Jason must take a leave from his full-time work (Jason will also have to continue to travel back and forth from Atikokan to Thunder Bay).

-ensuring that the kids are okay
