It is with a broken heart that I am reaching out to all of you. I am doing so to allow my mother peace in a time where I have come to realize that we need to lean on others. To know my mother, is to love her. We desperately need your help.

As many of you know, my mother Susan was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in March. Since then she has been in the fight of her life. She went through 4 rounds of chemo like a champ! Our hope was the initial treatments would shrink her tumors enough to remove them with more success. The good news is her surgery in July, 2 days after her 70th birthday, was very successful and prognosis looked good. The bad news is she has not been able to bounce back from surgery.

As a result, she was not strong enough for her remaining chemo treatments to eradicate the cancer completely. She was trying so damn hard to get better! She was back in the hospital 3 more times since July. The last trip to the ER on September 17th was the last time she was home….she’s been there ever since, bedridden.

My mother’s Drs were trying what they could to help her but unfortunately, she is now at the point where her now Stage 4 cancer has spread and there is no treating it.

Our hope is to move her into at home hospice so we can be with her 24 hours a day.

Along with keeping my Mother in your thoughts and hearts, this is where I need your help….the bills are coming in, with more on the way and everything is completely overwhelming. My mother, herself, is worrying about finances and each one of us right now. It is breaking my heart. All I want is peace for her.

My mother being thoughtful & smart and always thinking of us, started to plan her funeral and we need to cover those costs but don’t have the means. It’s a bit overwhelming for us now especially since the last thing we are thinking about are bills.

If you know my mom, you know her as being smart, caring, funny and generous. She is always putting people ahead of herself. She’s been a Tax Preparer for many many years and has turned many clients into friends. She’s just one of these people that you feel comfortable with and like you’ve known her for years, that’s her gift…..she makes everyone feel important and special, liked and loved. I am her only child and I have given her 3 grandchildren that she adores and showers with love! This is so hard on all of us but mostly my mom because even now, even at her weakest all she is doing is thinking of us.
