Susan J. Flynn passed away unexpectedly at the Watson Park Dog Park in San Jose on Saturday, September 1, 2018.  She leaves behind her beloved husband of nine years, Mike Flynn, and their eleven well loved rescue dogs.  
 

Susan was a warm and caring person who loved their dogs.  You would find her or Mike or both at Watson Dog Park multiple times a day, playing with and running their menagerie of dogs, large to small, young to old.  Always quick with a smile, her friendly attitude made it easy to talk with her about dogs, kids, or anything else.  She saw the best in every dog, and would stick up for the slightly hyper or out of control dogs in the park, and calm people down who might think a dog is dangerous or out of control. 


Despite living out of their two cars for the last year and a half after having been promised housing when they came to CA for work, Susan (and Mike) had the heart and love to welcome more dogs into their family that needed to be rescued.  She was a daily fixture at the dog park, bringing toys, balls, water buckets and even a dog pool for all the dogs who visited to play with.  She was looking forward to having back surgery to relieve the pain she dealt with.  She and Mike were a great team and traveled throughout the country following his construction jobs.   


Due to her passing, Mike has had to foster out six of the eleven dogs, as he simply isn’t able to handle and keep all eleven while continuing to work his job.  The five dogs he is keeping are being boarded daily while he works, a large expense to pay.  Losing Susan and the dogs so unexpectedly has been incredibly hard and stressful for him.  He is holding up the best he can and continues to work full time.
