Many times in life, really bad things happen to people that we love or that we have known for years but there is nothing that we can do to help their situation, because many times it is too late.

But sometimes we have the opportunity to make a positive change in someone’s life that can allow them to fight their fight without worrying about a mortgage payment, car or utilities.

Susan Fugitt Blankenburg is a young saint that I am sure most of you know; a Lake Orion Class of 1990 grad and a lifelong server in Lake Orion. Hamlin Pub, Detroit Burger Bar or Ignite were her main stays and I am sure the majority of you were touched by her attention to detail in her work, her constant upbeat demeanor as well as her unmatched kindness and smile. Susan is an awesome Mom, Grandma, mate, sister, daughter, friend to all and professional people person.

Susan has been diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer and will be undergoing a major procedure to remedy this awful situation.

The friends of Susan Fugitt Blankenburg will be hosting a fundraiser on February 25 at the Lake Orion Eagles to raise funds so that Sue can concentrate on the fight of her life and let us handle the daily expenses. We realize that in today’s world everyone is asking for something…

Sue has not asked for anything because she never has and that is not in her spirit and has been a caretaker throughout her life.

Our common goal is to raise a substantial amount of money to cover her expenses until she is back on her feet and to show her that her friends, family, patrons and community truly love her and appreciate all that she has done.
