Help Susan fight lung disease
Donation protected
Donate to help Susan and her husband Gene cover medical and travel expenses associated with her battle against lung disease. Money raised will be used to cover the medical and travel costs not covered by her insurance. Presently Gene and I are staying close to the hospital in an Airbnb.
About Susan
Susan is a beloved mother, grandmother, spouse and friend to many in her home of Great Falls, Montana and beyond. She’s an avid cyclist and fitness instructor. A love for travel and a family legacy in the airline industry led her to a career as a gate agent at the Great Falls International airport. She spends her free time biking, painting, and volunteering at organizations supporting children and families in the Great Falls area.
About her Condition
After experiencing increasing difficulty breathing in early May, Susan made several trips to the Emergency room where she was treated for pneumonia and put on oxygen. After continuing to struggle to breathe she was admitted to Benefis Hospital in Great Falls where she underwent a open lung biopsy. After difficulties weaning her off of the ventilator and an unclear diagnosis, she was airlifted to Salt Lake City to receive care at the University of Utah hospital. She’s received a diagnosis of a chronic lung disease that causes scarring of the lungs. She is currently undergoing treatment to see if resetting her immune system will reduce the constriction of her lungs and make lung transplant a possibility.
