Susan Curran - Liver Failure
Donation protected
First of all, thank you for being here. As some of you may know, Susan Curran was admitted to the ICU on July 17, 2020, due to liver and kidney failure. Specifically, she was diagnosed with Hepatorenal Syndrome, which is a type of progressive kidney failure seen in people with severe liver damage. As the kidneys stop functioning, toxins begin to build up in the body. Eventually, this leads to liver failure.
Susan was air lifted from the Medical Center in Port Arthur, TX, to Methodist Hospital in Dallas, TX. She is receiving kidney and liver dialysis, medication to increase blood pressure, and antibiotics for infection in ICU and is undergoing an evaluation for liver transplant. If the doctors recommend a liver transplant, she could undergo another 4-6 weeks of rehab before returning home. This will require Steve to rent a hotel and provide continual monitoring for general care and driving her to multiple doctor’s appointments. As you can imagine, this treatment is expensive, and Susan and her family could use all of the financial support they can get.
Susan is a wife to Steve Curran and a mother to Justin and Kara. Susan and Steve have generously opened up their home over the years to multiple people, rent free, to help them get on their feet. Now affectionately called their "adopted" children (Steve calls them "strays" lol), they are now included in their annual holiday meals! Additionally, because of Susan and Steve’s generosity, many of them have been able to complete their education and have successful professional careers and families.
Your generosity can help lighten the load, so that she can focus on recovery and return home. Your kind donation will go directly to Steve and Susan to help deal with the financial repercussions of her current condition, so they can focus on healing and supporting one another.
