Need Help Covering Upcoming Corrective Surgery & Living Cost

Donation protected

I am dealing with fallout from serious medical complications that completely changed and strained how I live and work each day.
Eating is my biggest challenge. A single kernel of corn poses a threat to swallowing. You know it's bad when you have to puree cream corn.

I now need additional corrective surgery to address what went wrong, I'm facing new medical bills on top of basic living costs while I go through this all over again.

This fundraiser is to help cover those upcoming surgery related expenses and living costs during this next medical transition.

MY STORY: WHAT HAPPENED AND WHY I NEED YOUR HELP

I worked in two image driven fields, fashion and the theater/film, where appearance often determines access to opportunity. The visible impact of my condition has made it difficult to be seen as employable, regardless of experience or ability.

THE AFTERMATH

After surgery, I experienced serious complications. Follow up care was inconsistent, and concerns I raised were repeatedly dismissed, including during visits to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center at that time.

Infections developed in both my jaw and at the donor site in my leg. At one point, the risk to my leg became severe enough that amputation was discussed.

Corrective work was later attempted at USC Health. Some issues were addressed, while others were complicated further by infection.

That period was about survival. With the help of a nurse, I managed my own care as best I could while my condition continued to deteriorate.

Today, I am entering a new phase of evaluation with a broader group of specialists, including a new ear, nose, and throat plastic surgeon.

I am slowly being taken seriously.

Funds raised will go toward:
Medical coordination and diagnostic work required to evaluate and treat this condition, including imaging, specialist consultations, procedural care, and recovery support.

Multiple doctors working together will determine the safest and most effective course of treatment.

Your support from donating or sharing this post will allow me to move forward with treatment while managing the realities of recovery.
