Trigger Warning: Domestic & Family Violence

I am asking for help because I am no longer safe in my own family.

On December 16, 2025, I was violently assaulted by my grandmother and emotionally restrained by my mother while trying to leave the house with my personal belongings. What started as an argument escalated into physical violence. I was pushed into walls, struck in the head, thrown to the ground, choked, scratched across my face and neck, and had my arm bent backward while I screamed and cried in pain. I genuinely feared for my life.

The photos included show some of the injuries I sustained.

This was not an isolated incident. I grew up in a household marked by physical, verbal, and emotional abuse. I was punished for expressing emotions, silenced as a child, and conditioned to remain dependent. This is generational trauma, but trauma does not excuse abuse.

After this incident, my belongings were thrown into trash bags. I was told I could “come back,” yet threatened with further harm and with interference at my workplace. I have missed two days of my new and first job because I am currently hiding for my safety.

Despite being financially supported at times, I was emotionally neglected throughout my life. I grew up fast, learned to care for myself and others, and carried responsibility far too young. Still, I have never lost my desire to help people. I am enrolled to return to school in the spring, pursuing a path toward becoming a psychologist, so I can support other young people who grow up in unsafe homes like mine.

Right now, I need help to survive and rebuild. Funds raised will go toward:

• Safe housing and emergency expenses

• Basic necessities

• Transportation and missed work costs

• School-related expenses

• Building stability away from my abusers

I did not choose this situation. I am choosing safety now.
