This fundraiser is intended for our close family and friends only to band together and help Shana, because life is kicking her while she’s down. 

First, we want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has been helping Shana through her battle with cancer. Whether you helped financially, took turns spending the night at the hospital, drove her to her many ER visits and/or appointments, cried with her, prepared meals, or helped her in some other way—we see you, and we appreciate you. 

For those of you who want to help, but weren’t sure how—there’s a specific need now. 

As you all know, Shana has been battling breast cancer since April. She was diagnosed with ERPR Positive, Stage 1 and a type that requires a double mastectomy. She has been responding well to treatment, though it has been a grueling 9 months of surgeries and infections. Her doctor finally paused her treatment to let her recover, regain strength and cleared to return to work for now. 

She has about 1 more year of treatment to go, after a year break.  

But many of you may not know that last week, an intoxicated driver hit Shana in a head-on collision. She was driving south to see her grandbabies for Christmas when a driver crossed the line. Miraculously, Shana was able to walk away with no major injuries, but her car was totaled. With a guardrail to her right, she had nowhere to go. She was hit head-on. 

To make matters worse, the person who hit her should never have been on the road. According to police reports, the driver was intoxicated, driving on a revoked license, and ran on foot to leave the scene. He has been charged with DWI (Drugs) and multiple other offenses. Because of his negligence, Shana is now left without a car, without a way to get to work, and without a way to get to her future medical appointments. 

Shana has fought so hard to get to this point. She survived the cancer diagnosis, the double mastectomy, the infections, and now this wreck. 

We are setting this up to pool our money together as a family to get her a used vehicle. She needs this to get to work (she’s been unemployed and in treatment for 9 months), to get to her future medical appointments, and to see those grandbabies (who were her reason to battle the cancer). 

She’s been strong for so long; let’s carry her through this last hurdle together.
