For those of you who don’t know him, my dad is Roger Davis — some of you know him as the Tidbit guy, some as the mobile mechanic, and others as your pastor.

The first thing I want to do is praise God that the phone call I got was that my dad was stable — not that I didn’t have a father anymore. When I arrived at the hospital, I learned he had been involved in a rollover accident on I-25. I will spare you the full details, but the crash involved a 75 mph collision with another vehicle.

He is currently at Swedish Hospital facing multiple serious injuries: an open tibia/fibula fracture, a broken heel, broken ribs, a narrowing spinal canal, damaged vertebrae and a disc spur, missing teeth, and the need for a skin graft and hip surgery. The pain he is in is unlike anything I have ever seen.

Some of you may also know that my dad has always been a very stubborn man and did not have health insurance. This has put us in a very difficult situation. Most rehab centers will not accept patients without insurance or a large upfront payment. On top of the medical bills, we need to make sure he can continue receiving the help and support he will need once he is able to begin using his body again. Right now, he can’t even feed himself — and serving other people has always been his way of life. In fact, it’s the only way he knows how to live. As you can imagine, this accident has not only taken a toll on his physical health, but now on his mental health as well.

In order to keep him as healthy as possible, both physically and mentally, we want him to have the best care available. With heavy hearts, we are accepting donations and support, and all the prayers our friends, family, loved ones, and even strangers can offer.

Any amount, no matter how small, will help cover hospital costs, surgeries, rehabilitation, ongoing care, and the basic support he will need during this long recovery. If you are unable to give financially, sharing this page or lifting him up in prayer means more than we can say.
