On March 1st, 2025, Russell McKenzie was out on a simple evening walk with his dog, Ariel, when his life changed forever. A 22-year-old drunk driver lost control, crashed through a fence, and pinned Russell between a truck, a tree, and a fence—leaving him with devastating injuries.

Russell is now in the ICU at Medical City Plano, fighting for his life and facing a long, painful recovery. His injuries include:

✔️ Lacerated liver and kidney

✔️ Punctured lung

✔️ Crushed ribs and spine

✔️ Crushed pelvis

✔️ Severe blood loss, requiring multiple transfusions

Due to his low blood pressure, he can’t receive proper pain medication, forcing him to endure excruciating pain fully awake.

Russell is a hardworking man who has dedicated his life to his family and his job at a small, family-owned auto repair shop. Unfortunately, he does not have health insurance, and the mounting medical bills—on top of being out of work indefinitely—are putting an overwhelming financial strain on him and his loved ones.
