Help Me Get Safe Tires for My Kids and Me

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out because I’m in a really tough spot and need help to keep my kids and me safe.

My car desperately needs a full set of tires. They’re so worn out, completely bald, that I’m failing inspection and driving illegally. I’m terrified I’m going to have a blowout — especially with both of my kids in the car. I live in a rural area with no public transportation, so a safe, working vehicle is absolutely essential for us.

I went with the cheapest tires available, just trying to get something that will pass inspection and keep us safe. Even then, with taxes, fees, and installation, the total is still around $700 because alignment costs an arm and a leg. I’ll provide proof of the appointment and all receipts — I just want to be able to fix this before something dangerous happens.

I recently left an abusive relationship and now I’m doing everything on my own. Literally, I don’t have the “village” everyone talks about, it’s just me and the kids. It’s overwhelming trying to hold it all together — parenting, working, and keeping up with bills and unexpected emergencies like this. Any help at all — even a share — means the world to me and my kids.

*** edit to add 5/14. I was just quoted (the smallest quote) $1020 because my tires have some sensor in them. I called around and even picking the cheapest tires, it’s upping my price. I really appreciate all of the amazing support! 

Edit again 5/14 *** the sensor addition was totally scammy, I talked to a community member who said that’s not necessary. I’ve lowered my donation need down. I’ll be getting new tires, inspection, and getting my car safe for the road very soon, thanks to all of you!!!!
