Help Hassan survive with his remaining family.

Dear kind people of the world,
I am Hassan Abdul Rahman Al Amassi, a Palestinian Gazan young man.
before the start of the War, I was a student in my second year of college with hopes and dreams to be a graphic designer for the film industry. I was getting excellent grades and I was excelling in my class. I started working online to help my father with my university tuition fee.
Since the 7th of October, our lives turned upside down. My university was destroyed with all my dreams.
One morning I woke up in a place that was not my room nor my home. I was in pain, severely injured in my head and back. I was informed that I lost 10 members of my family. my dear father Abdul Rahman 42 years old, my grandmother who was a mother figure to me Sabah 63 years old, my brothers Muhammad 18 years and Youssef 6 years, my sister Nada 9 years, my aunt Somaya 24 years and uncle Mohammed 33 years, his wife Hannan 29 years and daughter Maria 6 years, and my infant cousin Hassan 9 months. It was only myself, my mother, my brother and my grandfather who remained alive.

on the fourteenth of October, in the early hours of the morning, an airstrike hit our home and brutely killed 10 members of my beloved family. My mum was critically injured and severely burned. She underwent a long journey of treatment before she recovered from her physical pain. Her burns were stage one and two all over her body. Which left physical and psychological scars that no matter how hard we tried, just won’t go away.
My poor brother was dreaming of being a famous football player. Unfortunately, his dreams and aspirations were destroyed. The airstrike that hit my family house and killed my beloved family, severely injured his feet.

As an impact of the blast, I was thrown from the third floor to the ground. My back injury was so bad. I was unable to walk for several weeks. But due to the large numbers of martyrs and wounded in addition to the lack of medical supplies. The hospital was overwhelmed so I had to leave the hospital and go to a relative’s house where I had no access to medical care. This had an impact on my healing process and caused my wounds to get badly infected.

Gaza is not safe day after day. We were forced to leave. We had to evacuate more than 5 times; from Gaza to Nuseirat “middle of Gaza strip”, then Hamad Town, then to Nuseirat again, and finally to Rafah, where we now stay in a carpenter workshop. Not suitable for living, with more than 5 other families, 40 people sharing one bathroom.

I still do believe in humanity and there are people in the world who believe in human dignity and are willing to give those in need a hand, to be the lighthouse in that stormy night, to be the beacon of hope, nevertheless, I never imagined even in my worst nightmares that I would seek people’s help, but desperate times calls for desperate measures.

This campaign is our last attempt to survive. I humbly seek your assistance trying to raise £30,000.
• The funds will help me to evacuate with my mother and brother through the Rafah crossing.
• It will cover the medical expenses of myself, my brother and my mother.
• finish my studies to be able to support my family.
• live safely with my remaining family.

Any contribution is appreciated, it’s the collective effort of the human community that matters, help me revive what is left of my life.

Help me, my mother Sohair, and my brother Yazan to leave Gaza and seek proper medical care. Help Yazan get hope, continue his medical treatment and follow his dream to be a footballer.

Thank you for your compassion and solidarity during this difficult time.
