Survival of a Nonprofit: Associação Filhos do Céu

Last summer, I worked at this nonprofit organization in the northeast of Brazil and was completely moved by their mission and work. Associação Filhos do Céu is a nonprofit established with the objective to take kids off the street, preventing them from getting involved with drug dealing or prostitution. The organization has been standing for more than ten years now and has helped over 200 kids and their families. Because of the pandemic, the organization has been forced to shut down and has been deeply hurt financially since its donations come mostly from hotel and restaurant owners. The kids have no online school, no association to visit, and most do not even have a healthy and safe home to stay in. In order to make sure the association can reopen and the kids can return to it when the time comes, please help me raise money so that the organization can survive this pandemic. With 10,000 dollars, the organization can get through the next six months. No ano passado, eu tive a oportunidade de trabalhar como voluntária nessa associação em Arraial D'Ajuda, Bahia e fiquei completamente sensibilizada pelo trabalho e missão deles. A Associação Filhos do Céu é uma associaçao sem fins lucrativos com o objetivo de tirar crianças da rua para que elas não se involvam com tráfico de drogas ou prostituição. A associação existe ha dez anos e vem ajudando mais de 200 crianças e suas familias. Por causa da atual pandemia, a associação teve que fechar e esta perdendo seus maiores doadores que são relacionados a industria de turismo local. As crianças não estão na escola, estão sem associação e a maioria não tem uma casa segura para ficar. De modo a garantir que a associação reabra suas portas quando o momento chegar, peço a ajuda de voces para arrecadar recursos para que isso aconteça.
