Omi's Survival Fund & Student Loan Relief

Hello, my name is N’yomi Stewart; I am a twenty three year old multidisciplinary artist based in NYC and I need your help. After attending the prestigious University of North Carolina School of the Arts and graduating with a B.F.A. in Acting, I moved to New York to continue my transition in a city where I would have medical, social, and artistic support.

 

However, to attend UNCSA I had to take out loans; I had no information on how to navigate the loan process, and neither did my mother. I’m beyond proud of myself for being the first one in my immediate family to attend college, but the stressors of my finances post graduation have been looming over me for some time now. It has been difficult to make payments on my loans in combination with all of my other living expenses ( i.e. rent, energy, wi-fi, phone, and medical) and I’m navigating it as best I can. 

 

Upon moving to New York, I wanted to make an impact in my community, and I feel that I have been steadily moving towards that goal. My ask in all of this is if you can help provide any relief to my financial situation, please consider donating. The funds will be allocated to pay off the current amount due on my student loans so my credit will not continue to drop, and this in turn will also help me secure stable housing.
