My name is Kitana and I am requesting funds for my recovery following a violent attack in which I was recently assaulted by three members of a gang, some with weapons, during a random encounter at night. I was robbed, my bike stolen and left with extensive, lasting physical damage and a long road to recovery. My case is currently being investigated by the police as a potential hate crime also.

I woke up after being knocked unconscious in hospital alone, scared and unsure of how badly I had even been hurt. It turns out, during this traumatic event I lost my front teeth and cracked several others, meaning I now require extensive dental work to replace all damaged teeth. The immediate effects have been devastating both physiologically and with the amount of pain I'm in. I have had to drop everything else in my life to focus on myself and getting the help I need, which in itself is adding more weight to my situation.

The funds I am seeking are to primarily help me with the dental work as I'm finding it extremely difficult to move past this issue with my self-image and its limiting me from finding peace and moving on but also living now. This kind of work is extremely expensive and as an independent trans woman with no partner or family support, unfortunately I don't have anywhere near the amount to cover it on my own. Additionally, I had to move house immediately afterwards as the gang members had found out my address with the attack being so close to my home - which they threatened me with during the assault. Any amount of money towards this will go a long way to me getting back to where I was before this happened, with any remaining money going towards an immediate survival fund and long term therapy.
