Survival Essentials for Yuliia Mironchak's Family

My name is Yuliia Mironchak and I moved to Nanaimo, British Columbia from Odessa, Ukraine in November 2020. I have just recently received my Permanent Residency status and I feel so relieved and blessed to be living in Canada. However, I'm now in a position of need, and I'm seeking to reach out to others for assistance.

My homeland is currently being invaded by Russian forces initiated by a small pocket of elites of the Russian Federation. This war has affected all Ukrainian citizens, including my family, and they are currently in grave danger, fearing for their lives as they struggle to fulfill their basic needs.

Since the invasion, my Ukrainian sister and her family have been forced to move to an underground parking lot in an attempt to protect the well-being of their children and pets. They are currently sheltered in a shed the size of a small parking space to be protected from the winter weather and the constant sounds of blasts and sirens.

In addition to this hardship, the food prices have increased dramatically in the space of one week due to the dwindling of resources. My family in Odessa is sharing their limited resources with others who are seeking refuge in this make-shift parkade shelter.

These challenging living conditions have made any financial assistance I can share with them essential. A donation of funds will not only assist my family but in turn, other Odessan families that are seeking protection in the parkade with them. Any donations would be exclusively used to purchase essential groceries and basic survival necessities. I am extremely concerned for their mental and physical health under this extreme pressure, and having the funds to buy vital goods would go a long way.

My fundamental hope is that the suffering on Ukrainian soil comes to an end as soon as possible, but in the meantime, my family and I would be honored by any support you can give during these trying times.
