We're keeping live music going throughout the COVID-19 crisis by creating high-quality streamed gigs that anyone can tune into - for free.
The COVID-19 crisis has hit our musicians hard - as well as the communities they inspire and entertain. Yet staying connected by the power of live music is more important than ever.
When the crisis hit, we pivoted our small council-funded live music promotion project into a full-scale weekly live streaming initiative - and the response has been huge.
But our council grant is due to run out - and we need your support to keep this going.
This will mean musicians can have paid gigs and we can keep streaming them out to the world using high-quality video and audio technology.
Funds raised will go towards:
- Musicians fees
- Technicians and creatives who shoot and broadcast the stream
- Facilities expenses including studio, camera and lighting
- Operational costs for programming and booking the artists
Surry Hills Live allows us all to connect in the same online space, brought together by the power of music.
By keeping musicians in work, the project enhances the resilience of creative communities to recover when the crisis is over.
And by keeping live music going we can inspire people in all parts of our community when they're facing their biggest challenges ever.
Thank you Surry Hills for keeping it LIVE! and see you on the stream!
