My sister’s world changed forever when her husband, Justin—my brother-in-law—was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. After a courageous two-year battle, fighting with everything he had, Justin passed away on February 28th.

If you knew him, you knew what an extraordinary man he was—a devoted father to their three young boys, twin seven-year-olds and a nine-year-old, and a deeply loving husband. He was also one of the most generous people I have ever known, always giving freely of his time, his resources, and his heart. His absence has left a void that words can hardly describe. Now, my sister faces the unimaginable reality of raising their children on her own.

The emotional weight of this loss is overwhelming. My sister will do everything in her power to care for her three boys, but the financial responsibility of raising three children alone—planning for their future, and providing the therapy they will need to process their grief—is daunting. The boys are mourning the loss of their father, and support will be essential as they begin the long journey toward healing. At the same time, my sister needs love and support to adjust to this new and heartbreaking chapter.
