Surrendered Pet Care at DDPC
Donation protected
My name is Dominique and I own and run a small pet store located in a small town called Mackenzie. In our town of approximately 3500 people we have no local rescues for our community. Because of this, for the last 5 years of operation we have taken in many pets that people can no longer take care of for many reasons. We have had more than 3 hedgehogs, 1 ball python, 2 bearded dragons, 1 axolotl, 6 guinea pigs, 2 cockatiels, 1 lovebird, 2 geckos, 1 tortoise, 6 rats, 8 rabbits and countless fish. We tend to the pets for all their needs including taking them to Prince George (nearest city 2 hours away) to tend to their medical needs. We do have the pets available for forever homes when they are healthy, and if they require permanent care we keep them as store pets. Because we are a small store we rarely recoup our costs taking in pets and they almost always cost us to take them on as a rescue.
I am reaching out to ask for support in the medical and life care of these often discarded pets. We at D Doolittle Pet Care only want the best for them but as of our current situation have had to tighten some budgets and could use some help!
If you are able to give, we would (as would the animals) be so grateful!
