Surprised by a Stroke

For Brenda, a day like every other suddenly turned into a day like no other.  An active grandma and a dedicated Pier1 sales associate, this lady exudes spirit and joy.  Brenda was at work, doing what she loves, when she noticed something felt off. Things quickly spun into a whirlwind of paramedics and an ambulance delivered her to the local emergency room. Unable to speak or walk, Brenda underwent multiple tests and exams before receiving the news that she had suffered a mild stroke. It took several days before she regained the ability to speak, but the stroke has left her without the ability to stand on her own or walk. She has been transferred to a rehabilitation facility to begin the arduous work of regaining what mobility she is able to. There is no way to know how long or successful her rehabilitation will be.  Her normal monthly obligations and mounting medical bills have been weighing heavy on her mind, making it hard to concentrate on her therapy.  I am reaching out to friends and family, hoping that we can bless this sweet woman and ease the financial strain so she can focus on healing.  Give what you can, pray for her complete restoration, and know that she  deeply appreciates each and every prayer, thought, and gift.
