Send Suriname Robotics Team to WORLD CHAMPS!

Suriname’s first-ever robotics team of pioneering students and mentors won the opportunity to participate in the FIRST World Championship in Houston, TX from April 19 - April 22, 2023!

SteamSur (FRC Team 9135) is a 9-person high school rookie robotics team from Suriname, South America. Although they are a small team, they certainly bring the heat! Their hard work to build partnership effort and dedication to inspire students to engage in science and technology put them on the map in the FIRST Regional Competition back in March 2023. The judges recognized their massive strides with great impression, and not only were they selected as the humble recipients of the Rookie All-Star Award but also qualified for Worlds!

We know that behind every successful journey there is a strong team of supporters. The team has reached out to sponsors but with only a short amount of time to prepare, we are asking for additional support from you to help fund the team to make it to the World Championship game - where about 600 teams from around the world will gather for 4 categories of championships. Suriname will participate in the FIRST Robotics Competition category.
