Surgical Mission in Vietnam!

Donation protected
Dear friends, family, fam, and complete strangers -

To begin with, thank you for your time in even getting this far. This is a first for me, fundraising with this large of a goal in mind.

I've recently been granted the opportunity of volunteering as a surgical assistant for a community based organization called Hands for Hope. The trip is near approaching with service dates between the 1st and 8th of July in Hai Duong Province, Vietnam. Joining me on this journey are two people I hold dear to me - Raff and Pier.

Those of you who know me will know that I hold a high esteem for aid work and all those that play a role in facilitating ANY sort of gesture that encourages positive change.

Hands for Hope was established in the early 2000s and have incorporated a two pronged approach, targeting care in fields of both medicine/surgery, and education.

They have funded secondary and tertiary education for numerous Vietnamese children from families that would not have been able to afford to see their sons and daughters down this path.

My passion lies in the provision of reconstructive surgeries - restoring form, function, and by doing so, alleviating social issues that surround congenital deformities. This is something that I want to dedicate my life to, and am embracing any learning experience/opportunity to help. Some  corrective surgeries that we will be assisting in include that of fused fingers/toes (syndactyly), congenital/acquired contractures, club feet etc.

To put things in perspective, $300AUD covers the hospital, surgical, and post-operative fees for one child.
Our goal of $4500 would then cover expenses for 15 children.
Any amount helps.

BLESS UP guys. We are so so lucky to be born as we were, in this first-world setting that is so far removed from the harsher realities that these kids have to face.

Love you all. If you can't afford to donate, then spread the message in your own way, or in the very least, reflect on how good life really is for us.

Thank you, thank you!

Rachel, Raff, and Pier. xx
