Espy’s Surgery Fundraiser
Donation protected
On Wed, April 22nd, Espy will finally be having a surgery he has been waiting for for the last 5 years. I will respect his privacy and won’t disclose details, he can talk about that with you privately if he chooses to. But as his friend I can tell you that since his initial surgery date was postponed due to the pandemic his pain has increased so much that it has kept him in bed and not able to work most days. And if you know Espy you know how integral painting on a daily basis is for his soul and his life. So I am beyond grateful that he literally fought for his health and finally found a good surgeon who is willing to complete this procedure during the health crisis we are in the midst of (bless that man!) And Espy will finally know the feeling of living his life and creating his art free of chronic pain in just a few weeks.
But he needs some help, as we all do sometimes. Due to his pain, the pandemic’s social distancing policy and business shut down, work has been extremely scarce and limited for him. He’s forced himself to get some work in regardless of his pain but it hasn’t been nearly as consistent as it normally is. And as of today, he still cannot apply for unemployment in the state of California because it isn’t set up yet for independent contractors. He is anxiously anticipating this surgery’s medical expense along with the other monthly bills that keep coming in. I talked to him about setting something like this up for him a few months ago when he was finally making progress in getting a doctor to take him seriously without health coverage, but he was hesitant because he didn’t want to have his hand out to anyone and he didn’t think anyone would care enough. But that was before the coronavirus broke loose and flipped the world upside down, before he couldn’t work. So I’d love to prove him wrong and show him how many people actually do care about him, his health and his well being.
If Espy has been a part of your life in anyway through the years I KNOW for a fact that he has shared his kindness, generosity, knowledge, good heart and his craft with you. If he has been a friend to you, a mentor, someone who improved your community or your home with his art, someone who gave you a wall to paint and maybe even a lesson in how to improve your skill or even encouraged you to truly see what you are capable of as an artist or as a person, someone who listened to you, heard you and supported you or your business, if he has had your back in any way please help your brother out and donate to this fundraiser for him. Please support a friend during a time when he needs it most. I know times are uncertain for many of us right now, but most of us are lucky to be in good health and wake up every day without pain or illness. Please allow him the opportunity to experience that too. Allow him to heal his body after this surgery in ease without financial worries and with the knowledge that he does have people in his life that care about him. Knowing this man and the good soul that he is, I can’t imagine how you couldn’t.
Thank you in advance for your time and your donations. And I ask you to please share this with anyone you can. And if you really wanna make Espy’s day, commission him for a painting (the bigger the canvas the better:) He’s gonna be pain free and ready to getting back to making the world a more beautiful place as much as he possibly can.
Blessings to you all for your health, happiness & soul.
