Hi, my name is Travis and I am fundraising for my new dog Apollo. Apollo is a wonderful and amazing creature that I have developed a strong and meaningful bond with. He is my first dog, and was rescued out of a situation we're he was abondoned, left in a kennel, with no food and no water during the Chico CA fires this year. A road crew flagger was feeding Apollo for several weeks before he was finally rescued from his cage.
Apollo is a carefree and amazing animal he is loving and has become very attached to me and I to him, we go everywhere together and he has become a centerpiece of joy and happiness in my life.
When I got Apollo he had a funny walk, and so we knew something was wrong but was not aware of the severity of his injuries. He likes to run and play at the dog park and really has no restraint. The last several weeks he has started showing signs of favoring his right leg, limping and even not walking on it.
I took Apollo to the veterinarian today and they did xrays. The news was not good. His pelvis is very askew of what a normal pelvis should look like and looks like it healed without veterinary care. The veterinarian I seen today said it's very lucky it healed, even if it looks like it does. His femur on the other hand, where the joint is, is seriously fractured and is what his causing Apollo to limp and causing him pain. The veterinarian said he more than likely was run over at some point. He needs surgery.
They gave me a surgery estimate today and I went ahead and schedule his surgery for January 3, I need help though, and so does he, the estimated cost is 1900 dollars. I wish I had that. But I do not. His xrays today cost me 500 dollars. And I am left short on the amount to go through with surgery.
I have 900 dollars available to pay for his surgery, but I need to somehow get the other $1000 dollars so Apollo can be a functional and healthy dog, he loves to play and right now that is impossible, please help him. I need him in my life and he deserves a chance at life, he is extraordinary!!
