Surgery to remove Thyroid cancer tumor
Donation protected
My name is Valentina a Certified Nutrition & wellness consultant and currently studying toward my bachelors degree in Naturopathy. I met Zonia in a Facebook group of people who are suffering from Thyroid conditions. I have Hypothyroidism as well and when I changed my lifestyle and food choices I started to feel like myself again.
Zonia sent me a private message asking for help in which we scheduled a video call. She explained to me her current state and health issues. Being we are both Latina with our native tongue Spanish we connected right away and I immediately felt the need to help her along with her sweet young daughter Fatima.
I was a bit confused with her diagnosis initially she was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism which upon seeing her labs didn’t make sense to me. Zonia suffers from a big mass in her neck which is causing her a lot of pain and trouble swallowing. I encouraged her to go see another endocrinologist and get new labs. Zonia lives in a very remote area with limited access to any doctors or specialists. Unfortunately, it can take her several weeks to months to see a doctor. Meanwhile I helped her with her nutrition, supplementation and the labs she needed.
She finally saw her doctor and her lab work in fact showed she was Hypothyroidism not Hyperthyroidism and the mass she has needs to be removed ASAP now we know is cancer. Unfortunately, Zonia doesn’t have the financial means to pay for this surgery. Its only her and her 10 year old daughter. Zonia is still young (45 years old) and needs to be healthy for her daughter. It breaks my heart to think Fatima can lose her mom and only support. Hence the reason I have started this go fund me page to seek financial assistance for her surgery, more labs, medicine, groceries and utilities while she is recuperating from her surgery. She works as a housekeeper and makes very little money in Peru.
If you have the opportunity to help with anything we will be forever grateful!
What we spend for a cup of coffee can be a lot and go far for someone like Zonia.
Thank you,
Valentina, Zonia & Fatima.
