I have an operation coming up which costs £8600. have had to go private as the NHS have misdiagnosed me and even tried giving me physio for loose bone fragments in my ankle! They also hadn’t actually referred me as no one ever got back to me for this and I tried to chase this up but had zero help! I have gone private as I had no choice to get further scans with Spire hospital and have already spent over £1000 just on consultations and scans alone, they have shown me that I have bone fragments rubbing up against my tendons which will cause long term damage and I have an impingement of bone fragments within the ankle. All which have been ignored. The NHS instructed physio which I have now been informed would make the issue worse. I am hoping to raise £1000 just to help bring my direct debit down to avoid the interest rates that this will go up if this isn’t paid within 10 months. I have been fortunate that Dr Perera has been amazing support and has really given me hope that I can return back to parkour pain free once I have this surgery.
A bit of back story! A few years ago I rolled my ankle and heard a crunch, I couldn’t take time off work due to money so I just got on with it as I initially thought it was ligament damage, I suffered with pain in that ankle and couldn’t put weight on my heel without pain, it wasn’t until I landed on it in a way which shouldn’t hurt someone without this prior injury that I decided I need to push to get this looked into further as the NHS have misdiagnosed me and pushed me to the side that I finally found out I have loose bone fragments in my ankle that need removing! Any help on this would be greatly appreciated as parkour is the only hobby I have ever stuck to and felt passionate about.
