Hi everyone,

Odin was recently diagnosed with cancer, and he needs urgent surgery and hospital care — I’m asking for help to cover part of the cost so we can give him a real chance. He’s 7 years old, loves sticks, and tries to make friends with every human he meets — the sweetest boy who still has a lot of life (and treats) left in him.

I want to start by saying I understand times are hard for a lot of people right now. If I could cover this outright, I wouldn’t be asking for support. But like many Canadians, I can’t absorb a sudden, unexpected $15,000–$20,000 expense without help.

To save Odin, the surgeons need to remove the tumour by cutting out the affected section of his upper jaw where it’s growing, and also remove the nearby lymph node on that side in case cancer has spread there. The goal is to take out as much cancer as possible and then test what’s removed to confirm what comes next.

If we don’t proceed with surgery quickly, I’ve been told Odin may have as little as around two months before this malignant cancer progresses to the point where it takes him from me. The veterinary team has explained that the tumour is locally aggressive and time-sensitive, and that surgery is the only solution for a chance at recovery and more good-quality time. I’m sharing the clinical details and estimates in the attached documents for transparency, but my main message here is simple: we’re in a narrow window where acting fast could save his life.

I received an estimate from Toronto Animal Health Partners for initial surgery, with a projected total for the procedure and hospitalization in the range of $13,000.

On top of that, I’ve already spent close to $2,000 on the diagnostics and care leading up to this point. If follow-up treatment like chemotherapy is needed afterward, I’m preparing for another $5,000–$6,000 (rough estimate based on what I’ve been told so far).

It breaks my heart to ask for help to save his life, but I simply can’t carry the full cost of end-to-end care alone.
