Surgery or she will die of renal failure

This beautiful girl is Farrah Fawcett. I met her at a golden retriever rescue two days after losing my beloved Cowboy, my doggie of 14 years. My house was empty without a golden friend. We named her Farrah because of her great teeth and platinum do but mostly because she had been so traumatized in her other life that she hid from everyone (paparazzi, we said) because she was so petrified of humans. I was asked to “rehab” Farrah because she had a urinary infection and needed to be spayed.. yet, she was also unsocialized! What a ride this has been because, as her Mom, I knew there was something very wrong.. this wasn’t potty training problems. Eventually, I found that she has a genetic anomaly that means the uterer(s) are not attached to her kidneys and without intervention to attach them, the infection will cause renal failure. She’s only 15 months and very healthy otherwise (she runs in her mountains twice a day!) and my best companion. The surgery is expensive and the rescue refuses to support financial assistance with this. I cannot put my girl down, as I am no stranger to the magic of our community. Farrah is now a celebrity in her own right. When we walk in the 505 every day, she stops and wags when they shout out,” Good Morning, Farrah Fawcett!” She signs autographs but most important, she TRUSTS people and loves them with all she has. She’s not just my girl, her healing came from everyone who has loved her way back to safety. I can say, it’s been reciprocal. I myself have surgery next week for a medical condition and she’s been with me day in and day out. As we know with our pets, we may need them more than they could possibly need us. I’ve scheduled this vital surgery for her and I’m taking the financial leap of faith because she took a huge leap of faith when I brought her home to my house!
