Hi everyone,

We're reaching out with heavy hearts for support in saving our beloved family dog, Rico. He’s a sweet and loving French Bulldog who will be turning 5 years old on July 1st. Unfortunately, he’s been diagnosed with IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) — a painful and progressive spinal condition that’s common in Frenchies and can lead to full paralysis.

For the past year and a half, Rico has been showing signs of this heartbreaking condition. He’s often been in visible pain, reluctant to move, and has struggled more and more over time. We recently took him to the vet, where we received the difficult news that IVDD was progressing.

Last night, Rico’s condition took a sudden and serious turn. He could barely walk and lost control of his bladder. As of today, June 29, 2025, Rico is completely paralyzed in his hind legs. He can no longer walk, feed himself, or go to the bathroom on his own.

We are taking him to the veterinary specialist to determine next steps, but we already know that surgery is the best — and possibly only — option to save his life. The surgery can cost up to $8,000, not including medication, follow-up care, or rehabilitation.

This is where we desperately need your help.

Without this procedure, our only option may be to put Rico down, and that’s a decision that’s breaking our hearts. He’s still full of life, love, and fight — we just need to give him the chance.
