My name is Cathy Culpepper. I am fundraising for my best friend, Amy Coulter, and her dog Gizmo.

Most of us think of our animals as family. When they are hurt, sick or in need of surgery, we step up to the plate to do anything necessary to make them well again .

This is the story of seven year-old Gizmo. He ended up with a slip disc this past weekend and is now having emergency surgery at Live Oak Veterinary Hospital in Savannah. He lost the ability to walk and in order to get this function back... his MRI, surgery and hospitalizion is costing upward of $14,000. This is an astronomical amount of money which no one plans to have to dish out on a single day.

Gizmo's mom is a dedicated volunteer at the Humane Society, single mother of two teenagers, and the sole breadwinner of this family. This is an extremely hard hit, especially coming right after Christmas.

Gizmo the pug is the love of her life and that of her children. I know I would do anything for my kids... even my four legged ones.

If you can find it in your heart to help her get over this massive hurdle, this would be so appreciated. Gizmo wants to get back into his family arms and get that little chunky body back to doing all the doggie things he loves to do.
