Stacey has been a working single mother for 25 years, always keeping two jobs to provide a home for her daughter. This has caused her to neglect her own health. She suffers from multiple chronic diseases and disorders, including kidney and liver malfunctions. Per her physician, surgery is mandatory.

Right now, Stacey has satisfied the $5500 deductible her insurance requires. This leaves her responsible for 25 percent of the total cost of surgery.

Stacey's immediate family has volunteered to cover the costs of the surgeon and the hospital stay not paid by insurance. This leaves the remaining expenses:

Transportation to and from San Antonio, a ten hour trip. Stacey has already made the drive once for a day of required tests.

A ten day stay in a hotel that is required by insurance.

Loss of income for almost two weeks.

The clock is ticking. Surgery is scheduled for Wednesday, December 13th, 2017.
