Surgery Hope: Mikala's $10k Goal

Hi, my name is Mikala, and I’m fundraising for an upcoming surgery scheduled for August that will finally bring me relief after nearly a decade of pain.

My journey began when I was 17. Like so many women, I struggled to be taken seriously in our healthcare system. Despite constant, debilitating pain, I was dismissed again and again. It took almost 10 years to finally find a provider who listened and helped me get the answers I needed.

I was diagnosed with PCOS, and more recently, my doctors suspect adenomyosis that’s been the root of much of my pain. This surgery will remove a large fibroid and, depending on what they find, potentially my uterus as well. It’s not an easy step, but it’s necessary and life-changing.

While insurance is covering part of the cost, I’m still left with $10,000 in out-of-pocket expenses. I’m asking for your help to cover what insurance won’t. Every contribution will go directly toward my medical bills and recovery, and every bit of support means the world to me.
