As some of you may know, our dear friend and soul sister Paymaneh ‘Bibi’ Khalili is having spine surgery on December 23rd to alleviate a herniated/ruptured disc in her neck. A longtime leader in the Bay Area dance community, Bibi has persevered through immense daily pain this year to continue doing what she loves: creating, producing events, and inspiring those around her keep growing and doing what THEY love. The surgery she will be undergoing will hopefully resolve the issue, but it’s also expensive (even with insurance) and will prevent her from working for a few months until her neck and spine are strong again.
If you are a fellow artist or freelancer, you know that even a short time out of commission can set someone back a lot financially. And, if you know Bibi, you know that she puts in 110%, rarely asking for anything in return. So, to help her through this time, we’re asking you — her friends, family, and creative community — to kindly donate whatever you’re able to over the next few months to assist with covering with her medical bills, rent, and other recurring expenses.
