Our 7-month-old frenchie, Marvin, was just diagnosed with a Hiatal Hernia. This essentially means that his stomach is going through his diaphragm into his esophagus. His brachycephalic (flat-faced) breed breathing issues are worsening his condition. In order to correct these issues, Marvin needs surgery. We are currently giving him medications and injections to try and prevent him from regurgitating his meals, but he isn't having much luck keeping food and water down. We are feeding him small portions of wet food throughout the day by holding up his dish to keep his head elevated while he eats and continuing to elevate his head after meals to try and prevent regurgitation. Marvin is a gentle and friendly frenchie who has two cat siblings that he adores! His favourite snacks are blueberries and carrots! He is a couch potato as he loves cuddling and taking naps, but before COVID-19 he also enjoyed playing at the park with his friends. Marvin joined our family on January 4th and we can't imagine life without him. We adore everything about him, even his frenchie farts! We would do anything for him, which is why we're reaching out to whoever is able to help. COVID-19 has put a financial strain on us, his hoomans, as we are currently living off of one income and regret that we can't afford the full cost of his surgery. His surgery fees may cost up to $5000. We understand that this is a difficult time for EVERYONE mentally, physically, financially, but we are hopeful that any little bit will help. We would be forever grateful!
