Surgery for Stoli

Our pit bull mix, Stoli, was out jogging with our son and unfortunately tore her Cranial Cruciate Ligament in her back, right knee (think human ACL). She is not in unbearable pain, however, she cannot be her usual, playful self. The surgery is necessary to repair and regain the use of her leg. The procedure being done is called a TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy). Due to the severity of the injury, surgery is needed as soon as possible.

The funds donated will be used for the surgery, medications, post-op care/check-ups, and physical therapy. All leftover donations, that are not used, will be donated to the Fairfax Animal Shelter in Fairfax, VA. Stoli was rescued from the Fairfax Animal Shelter on May 7, 2016. She had been through a rough time. She was found tied to a tree, the October prior, days away from giving birth. All 10 of the puppies were adopted out. Stoli was not able to be placed for adoption yet, because she was sick. Through an elimination diet, it was discovered she had several food allergies. Once healthy again, Stoli was placed for adoption. Unfortunately, she was adopted out twice, and returned twice. That's when we were fortunate enough to have her join our family. We feel she was returned because she was not given enough time to show her personality. Since adoption, Stoli has become a central part of our family. We can't imagine a day without her and everyday she can't be her normal, playful self is like a day without her. She's our "MooMoo" and we want her better.
We both work multiple jobs and would greatly appreciate any and all donations. Even a donation of $10 will help add up quickly. We will bring updates of the surgery, as well as recovery, to allow you to follow Stoli's medical journey.
